Early Career Researcher Careers Session (PM)
ProfPractice1-PM
NAM attracts a significant number of early career researchers, many of whom are considering carer options. This collaborative careers session with the RAS Early Careers Network will support Early Career Researchers looking for their next role. This session will provide an overview of the UK Space Sector and Career Pathways followed by a panel event with industry speakers from different companies, with PhDs in astronomy, geophysics, and related fields, as well as academics early in their career but in a substantive post.

The speakers will give short introductions to their current roles and their own career paths, followed by a Q&A to advise delegates considering similar roles.

This session will give constructive advice on different career paths, emphasising that a move out of academia is as much success as gaining a position in a university or research facility and that there are some fantastic opportunities for highly qualified doctoral graduates.
