All attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees and staff, and to adhere to the NAM Code of Conduct.
The Royal Astronomical Society is proud to present the next National Astronomy Meeting, NAM 2022, to be hosted by the University of Warwick from Monday 11th July to Friday 15th July, 2022.
In addition to the UKβs astronomy community, the meeting includes the UK Solar Physics (UKSP), and the Magnetosphere Ionosphere and Solar-Terrestrial (MIST) communities.
NAM2022 will be a hybrid conference. By using a hybrid model we hope to allow as many people as possible to experience the conference and learn about the exciting astronomy and space science research being conducted around the UK and further afield.

Thank you to everyone who has registered for the conference - we have just over 800 people attending the conference in some capacity, whether that's in-person, online, volunteering, or coming for the awards dinner.
We look forward to welcoming all of our conference guests, whether you're coming to campus or joining us online.
In-person registration is now SOLD OUT, as we have reached the cap on space. Online registration is still available, and will close at 23:59 BST (UTC+1) tonight, 24th June.
We have now also reached the in-person registration cap for Tuesday 12th July. We are now no long accepting any further full week registrations, or day registrations for Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday.
We have now also reached the in-person registration cap for Monday 11th July. We are now no long accepting any further full week registrations, or day registrations for Monday or Thursday.
However, we acknowledge that attendees may still wish to attend in-person for the remaining days, and that this will cost more in individual day registrations than the original full week prices. We do not want anyone to pay more than the original full week prices, so people registering for 3+ individual days will be refunded the difference from the full week price.
We have now reached the in-person registration cap for Thursday 14th July. Accordingly, we are no longer able to accept any further full-week in-person registrations, or any further day registrations for Thursday. In-person registration on other days is still available.
We have been overwhelmed by the positive response to the conference, and currently have over 500 people attending each day in-person, as well as over 100 online-only attendees.
Unfortunately, for logistical reasons we have to cap the number of in-person attendees each day at 550. Any registrations beyond this will be for online-only attendance.
Currently Monday and Thursday are the busiest days, with over 530 people attending, but the other days aren't far behind. If you plan to attend in-person, consider registering sooner rather than later to ensure that you're able to do so. We also remind everyone that registering for any number of days in person gives you access to the online platform for the whole conference.
Tickets for the trip to Kenilworth Castle on Monday 11th July are now SOLD OUT.
There are still other social events planned for the week of NAM - see the What's On page for more information.
Our on-campus accommodation is now completely SOLD OUT, and the accommodation booking system is closed.
For information about alternative accommodation near to campus, please see our Accommodation page.
The COVID-19 policy for NAM2022 has just been published - see the COVID-19 Policy page.
We have added information about our outreach programme to the website - check out the pages underneath the "Outreach" tab above.
As part of our outreach programme, we are pleased to announce that SUN will be joining us at NAM! This fantastic fusion of science and art will not only be available for self-guided tours, but is also at the centre of our school outreach programme and Wednesday's family science festivall.
Attendees at previous NAMs may remember the (in)famous NAM football tournament. After an enforced two-year hiatus we're pleased to announce that it is going ahead this year on the evening of Monday 11th July, from 20:00 to 22:00. More details, and a link to enter your team, can be found on the "NAM Football" page under the Social tab at the top of the page. Please enter your teams as soon as you can to help us plan the format. If you don't have a team then feel free to sign up as an individual and we'll help you find a team.
Registration for NAM2022 is now open! To register, please visit the "Registration" page where you will find a link to the registration form, details of the registration fees, relevant policies, and other useful information.
There are two registration deadlines:
We have been in discussion with the on-campus nursery about childcare during the conference, and are collecting requests for spaces to help them assess the level of demand. For more information, please visit the "Childcare" page.
The RAS have grants available to support attendees with caring responsibilities. For information about how to apply, see the "Grants & Bursaries" page.
