RAS quilt at NAM2022
The Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) launched the bicentennial quilt project in 2020 as one of the ways to celebrate its 200th anniversary. 100 embroidered, felted, printed, beaded and even knitted 20 x 20cm squares were created and sent in by people across the globe. The squares were then stitched together and the result is a colourful patchwork of galaxies, planets, telescopes, stars, comets. But, it's not finished yet! Come along to the RAS Quilt Project workshop and add your stitches to a piece of history in the making.
The workshop is running during the poster session on Thursday afternoon. Location TBC, but likely in the Mead Gallery or Arts Centre Studio Theatre.
